Cold Day, Warm Hearts

without comments

It was a chilly Saturday Morning but not too bad considering it is November after all. I was worried about the effects of cold weather… red and runny noses, off color skin tones… as I walked through O’Dell Park looking for the requested fall colors that are hard to come by this time of year. All worries melted away after meeting Lauren and Matt! I was instantly warmed by their genuine love for each other and I absolutely loved the way the laughed together. And I mean LAUGHED! The kind of laugh that brings a smile to anyone who is near enough to listen.

It was a pleasure to spend a little time with them in a “mini” engagement session. The time may have been short but the photos are beautiful! As are the people in them.

Oh What Fun!

A sunny day in March, plenty of snow still on the ground and a temperature of 13 degrees. What could be better than that for an early spring e-session? A young couple, very much in love, who truly love to have fun – that’s what! It was a wonderfull way to spend a beautiful spring afternoon. The only exception being the occassional sinking to the hips in the snowy fields. Because when I say there was plenty of snow, I mean PLENTY! But even that was made more enjoyable by the laughter that filled the air as this fantastic couple, Lindsey & Aaron, “posed” for engagement photos in the very place where the romantic groom -to -be proposed and where they will say their vows this summer.

I wish you a lifetime of romantic gestures, love, laughter and fun! Enjoy this small preview of your engagement album and others on my facebook business page.

E-Session

without comments

What?? I agree. Times change so fast, especially with the digital and computer world growing at a rate that is almost impossible to keep up with. It took me several days to  figure out that e-session is the new quick computer lingo for engagement portraits!

Just as technology changes daily, so do trends in photography. My idea of an engagement session       (hence e-session) is basically a standard sitting of a couple engaged to be married. The primary purpose is to have a professional announcent to use for newspaper publication. And while this is still a possibility… it is certainly a more economical option… the new e-session is an elaborate event! A 2 hour session with several pre-planned locations, 50 proofs in an album, and a 4×5 digital file of choice for publication can be fantastic fun but also establishes a relationship between the happy couple and their photographer (me!). It also allows for a diligent photographer (again me!) to look carefully for little issues that may need to be addressed before the big day.

Recently, I shot a mini e-session that took only an hour. It took no time at all to get 50 great shots. Imagine what an extra hour of time may have produced. I think you, and hopefully the bride and groom to be, will agree that these photographs turned out very well! The location, chosen by the bride, was awesome. It may even be a wedding day location. It most certainly would serve as an ideal choice. Best of all, I enjoyed getting to know Ashley and Greg in a more relaxed setting. Without the nervousness that often creeps in during a wedding, it is clear to see that this is a very happy couple. I am looking forward to photographing their special day!
